Dr. Patricia Okonkwo is a board-certified internist and the Chief Medical Officer at OptiMedical Health System, where she oversees clinical quality initiatives across the network's 14 hospitals and 120+ outpatient facilities. With more than 20 years of experience in academic medicine and health system leadership, Dr. Okonkwo is passionate about translating complex medical research into actionable guidance for patients and families.
She earned her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine and her Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Before joining OptiMedical, she served as Associate Chief of Medicine at Emory Healthcare, where she led system-wide efforts to reduce hospital-acquired infections by 38%.
